Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. The service
Dev Platform provides ephemeral development environments (databases, caches, object storage, Linux containers) via a web console. The service is self-hosted and operated by a private individual.
The service is provided as-is without any warranty of availability, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use this service. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this requirement.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Dev Platform to:
- Host, transmit, or process illegal content of any kind.
- Store personal data of third parties without their consent.
- Perform attacks on other systems or networks.
- Abuse the service in a way that degrades performance for other users (e.g. cryptocurrency mining, DDoS amplification).
- Attempt to access other users' environments or data.
- Circumvent plan limits or authentication controls.
Violations may result in immediate account termination without refund.
4. Accounts and credentials
You are responsible for keeping your password secure. Do not share your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
If you suspect your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@devplat.ch.
5. Data and ephemeral environments
All environments are temporary by design. Data inside environments is automatically deleted when the TTL expires. We do not take backups of environment data.
Do not store production data, personally identifiable information (PII), or anything you cannot afford to lose in Dev Platform environments.
6. Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans (Pro at $19/month, Ultimate at $39/month) are billed monthly. Payments are processed manually or via a third-party payment provider — details are communicated at checkout.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from the billing page in the console. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused days within a billing period, except as described in section 7.
7. Service shutdown and refunds
If the service is permanently discontinued, all outstanding prepaid subscription time will be refunded in full. This is a firm commitment.
Temporary outages or maintenance windows do not qualify for refunds. Given the home-hosted nature of this project, roughly 90% uptime is the realistic expectation.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of or inability to use the service, including but not limited to data loss, lost profits, or business interruption.
The total liability of the operator shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 30 days preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
9. Intellectual property
The Dev Platform software is a personal project. You retain ownership of all data and code you create using the service. We claim no rights over your content.
10. Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a material way, registered users will be notified by email before the change takes effect. Continued use of the service after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Switzerland, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law.
